Welcome to The Plain Present! The Plain Present refers to the timeless present moment which is central in my professional work and personal practice through mindfulness. I have a PhD in Management from the University of Stavanger, and a major degree in Social anthropology from the University of Bergen. I have 12 years of experience as a professional developer, supervisor and researcher at Dalane District Psychiatric Services, Division of Psychiatry, Stavanger University Hospital. Today I work as associate professor of educational psychology at Norwegian Centre for Learning Environment and Behavioural Research in Education. My main areas of research are mindfulness, stress and stress management in educational contexts, and social and emotional competence. I am a certified mindfulness instructor from Scandinavia Center of Awareness Training, Norway, from 2007, and .breathe instructor from Mindfulness in Schools Project, England and Wales, from 2020.
